Liam Empson was born and raised in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Liam has been dancing competitively for over a decade since he started his journey at 15 years old at a local studio. His love for hip hop and other street styles flourished throughout high school, which he then joined one of the top hip hop crews here in Winnipeg, Project Dance Company.  He has been training with them for over 5 years, competing in multiple international hip hop competitions which include Hip Hop International in San Diego, and Dancers Paradise in Mexico, alongside some of the best dance crews in the world. Liam has taught Project Dance Company as a guest teacher and choreographer.

 

Liam has choreographed multiple sets for shows in Winnipeg which include Art Local and Project Company’s CANVAS Winter Showcase.

Liam is an active company member of Emerge Professional Dance Co,  being featured in a several music videos as a back up dancer.

Liam teaches local drop-ins here in Winnipeg, to share his outstanding choreography and own personal style!

Liam's passion for choreography took off when he found his love for freestyling. He is a creative, always looking for more ways to expand his artistry. Liam also has a passion for fashion, and loves music.

​

Outside of being a dance teacher, Liam works full time at a daycare, where he fulfills his passion for working with children. He loves bonding with the kids and teaching them, and most importantly watching them grow.  Liam can't wait to take on the role of Assistant Director at Emerge, and is so excited to mentor his students!
